Community Impact Bucks

Community Impact Bucks is the Rural Community Council, Council for Voluntary Services and Volunteer Centre for Buckinghamshire. We deliver comprehensive support and a strategic voice for the voluntary and community sector and rural communities across Buckinghamshire and rural Milton Keynes to ensure they are regarded as equal partners in the delivery of diverse services, responsive to the needs of communities and contributing to their success and well-being.
We:
Help communities and groups to identify their need
Support them to take actions to meet those needs,
Develop a picture of the county that enables us to advocate on behalf of the rural, voluntary and community sectors
Ensure that our strategic partners are aware of the wider issues impacting on residents

Through our work we contribute to the development of cohesive communities by:
Bringing people or groups together who have interests in common
Enabling individuals to resolve personal barriers to achieve or retain their independence.

We work with voluntary & community groups:-rnrnto maximise their effectiveness in meeting their objectives, by supporting them to run efficiently and effectively, to make the most of their existing resources and access additional ones, to work cooperatively and collaboratively when appropriate, to identify unmet needs and service gaps for their beneficiaries or communities and take opportunities to develop services to meet these gaps.

By using our bank of knowledge about who does what, in the voluntary and community sector, across the county we are uniquely placed to bring groups together to resolve issues for geographic communities or ‘communities of interest’ (eg. those working with people with mental health problems).

Resolution of an issue may include development of new services or to collectively influence policy makers about a relevant decision.

We also work to develop and deliver services where unmet need has been established but no successful solution to filling the gap has been identified.

These will be focused on meeting the needs of individuals. Examples include the YouthBus, Wheels to Work and Gardening services.
