Cherie’s Childminding Services

I provide various activities for all children.rnrnCreative days- these are based on monthly themes from various festivals to road safety.

Baking and cooking days- food from different countries, healthy meals and of course cakes!rnrnI have a toy-room packed full of toys for all ages – bricks, board games, jigsaws, role-play, dolls houses.rnrnPlaydough, drawing, painting, model building.

I have a outside play area which includes a playhouse with kitchen, slides, ride on toys, trampoline, tents.

We also have an area for growing vegetables, this is a wonderful opportunity for the children to help sow the seeds and watch them grow.

I attend various toddler groups where you child will meet and interact with others.

Days out to local parks and places of interest where your child will learn about and explore the world around them.

I also visit other childminder’s and they visit me, this is a wonderful opportunity for your child to make new friends and to see them on a regular basis.

My childminding colleagues have different resources to me so it helps your child try new things thus enhancing their learning and their enjoyment of their time with me.

I give all children in my care the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Sometimes this means adapting an activity to the child’s ability and stage of development, providing additional resources or giving one child more support during a particular activity.

All children in my care are given the opportunity to play with all the toys (subject to health and safety with children under 3). No toys are just for girls or boys. I try to ensure my toys reflect positive images of children and people of different cultures and with different abilities.

No child within my care will be discriminated against in any way, whether for their skin colour, culture, gender, ability or religion. I will challenge any remarks that I feel are inappropriate.

I encourage children in my care to learn more about their own culture and to find out about the culture and religions of other children.

We do this in a fun way through sharing books, colouring sheets, cooking and eating food from around the world and celebrating different festivals.

I encourage children to develop a healthy respect of each others differences and to value everyone as a individual.rnI encourage parents to share with us any festivals, special occasions which may enhance the children’s learning and understanding.
